I'm as susceptible to trends and paranoia as the next guy  Or maybe more so. How 'bout you guys? It seems counter-productive to stock up and then shoot up! So, I find myself fiddling with my target style pellet gun a lot....the pigeons sitting on top of the grainary 70 yds. away are pretty challenging, especially if the wind is more than about 2 mph. There isn't a shortage of pellets, thankfully, and I have a 20 lb. bulk fill co2 tank. One pound is good for about 1,000 shots.

I also turned to gun maintenance and tune-up projects, checking screw torques, cleaning barrels and lenses, re-organizing the bench, stuff like that. I figured out how to tune my old balance beam scale, and also what it takes to get my cheap Hornady scale to read consistently and match up with the balance beam - it can be done! I just don't want to shoot up a pile of components tweaking loads and punching paper right now. Turkey season is coming up, and soon after that the walleye bite will turn on. Good excuses for not popping caps for a while.

I'm curious if others on here have gone to similar activities?

Slightly less but not much, I am fortunate to be pretty well stocked for probably 2+ years or more, except for some powders. 6 lbs of 4350 will last a while. but I will run out of RL-15 shortly. Will substitute with 6 lbs of 3031 or 4064. I could perhaps run out of specialized "match bullets". But I have lots of non match bullets to put down the barrel. I have a life time supply of 22 shells, 7mm bullets and primers.

No real cutting back on shooting just yet. As the weather improves, I'll undoubtedly be shooting more.

Right now I'm not doing much of anything since my ankle opperation but hope to get out soon and test some loads in my 300Bee. It's heck being house bound especialy this time of year when everything is coming to life and starting to turn green

I hear ya. Had shoulder surgery and was in a sling/brace for 6 weeks, now I am getting a frozen shoulder that I have to work through.

I've put 50 rounds through my 300WM and that's it since Christmas. I'm all out of powder, primers, and custom competitions for my .308, and only barely enough powder for 20 rounds in my 300 WM.

I have "sequestered" (their word!) enough primers and powder to keep going at my normal pace for 2 years. I just hope that Congress has impeached Obama by then!

Crud, I'm shooting less simply because I've got less free time. Plenty of ammo and components on hand... It's time I lack!

G'Day Fella's,

EE2, the way I see it, you need to have your "Back Up Ammo" (BUA) in storage and your "To Use Ammo" (TUA) that you want to use and or reload!
Worse comes to worse, the TUA just moves into the BUA area!!!

I figure you need to keep Huntin, Shootin or Practicing, so that would be a basic fundamental for me.

Hope that helps

Doh!
