IMR 4451

Unable to find H4350 I picked up some IMR 4451 to try in my 30-06 with Nosler 180 Partitions and Accubonds. This is one of the new Enduron temp stable powders. Does anyone have experience with this powder? I have seen the load data on the Hogden website. It looks promising

My initial efforts were quite promising, Rol. It is another tool in the hand loader's toolkit. The Hodgdon data provides some great possibilities as I see it.

I like it in my 7 Rem Mag. Developed a load for 120g BTips for coyote hunting this past fall. It does seem to be pretty stable in colder temps. The barrel also cleans very easily with this powder, lots of carbon that wipes out easy with little copper fouling. The only thing I noticed was that the barrel seems to warm up lots quicker with the new Enduron powders.

I have tried it in a 30-06 and it performed about the same as H 4350 with slightly lighter charges. Unfortunately the gun was an average shooter at best so it became a 270 Win since I had the barrel for 2 years at least. I'm thinking of picking up a Rem 700 SPS or a new Tikka T3x in 30-06 again and IMR 4451 will be on the top of the list of powders to try.

IMR 4451 works great in the 260 Rem with Sierra 130 gr HPBT's (2900 fps and good accuracy) and as soon as we are done with bear hunting I'm going to try in in the 270 Win with the Sierra 140 gr HPBT.

I've started some development with it in my 308. The 180's loved the stuff. Haven't had the opportunity to run any over a chrony or to take it out any further than 100 so far. As of now, it looks very promising.

Yes, I have had some good results in two different 270 win. rifles. I had been hoping to post a group I shot with my boss's 1957 Savage M110. I had four out of four bullets in a 5/8" group at 100 yards. I also had some good groups with my rifle but I don't remember the specifics off the top of my head. I will happy to show you my targets the next time you stop by.

I've been using it in my 280 Rem (139 gr. Interlocks) for about a year with really good results. It's giving me really consistent accuracy with higher than expected velocity out of a 23'' barrel...seems to live up to the advertised temp stability too. Been meaning to try it in my 25-06 but haven't got around to it yet.

I've also found consistent velocity and good accuracy from my .270 with 130 partitions. Plan on trying it in .25-06 with 115 partitions and likely in my .243 and .30-06. It seems to be as versatile as H4350 with a little higher velocity plus the copper reducing properties. Whats not to like with this powder.

I use it in my 7mm MSM for fire forming loads. Seems to burn very clean.

I use it with 180 AB's in the 30-06. It performs as advertised. While you do get less copper the reside is quite dirty.

I've got some loads in the 6.5x55 to try, too.

My first attempt with the 30.06 showed some promise but I haven't gone any further with it.

Try 55 grains with the 180 weight bullets, 56.5 with the 150's at Nosler book length.

Of course you would work up to those ...
