Can someone tell me were one measures to determine length of pull for an individual? And Iam asking about measuring the individual's body not the rifle. :?

Thanks for the help!

trays7940......................Good question! The length of pull is measured from the butt end of the rifle (center), or from recoil pad to the trigger........Most full sized rifles will average about 13.5".....while the compact/ youth models will average about 12.5".........

Misread your last post. You want a location for a body measurement!......For example; For a right handed shooter, bend the right arm, stick the elbow out about a 45 degree angle away from the side rib cage or torso, measure from the right inner shoulder, just below the collar bone (where the recoil pad or butt end of the rifle will be placed while shooting to the trigger finger........The best way to fit a rifle for someone, is for them to shoulder the rifle & see which length of pull is most comfortable.....Could this rifle be a surprise for someone?

Kool... Thanks for the help. I actually understand what you are saying. I think you are right about having a rifle in firing position though, you could bend the arm to any length the other way. Again, thanks for the help.

Here's another way that works great. Curl your index finger like you were firing an imaginary gun. Measure from the finger pad to the inside crease in the bend of your arm. This is your exact length of pull.
