I'm using IMR 4831 powder with 175 grain Speer Mag Tip and it shoots really well in my 7Mag. I'm using this load to hunt deer. I have a Ramshot load chart and you should be able to use 71.2 grains of Ramshot Magnum powder to achieve 2947 FPS with this load.
I've used h-4831 lot's in the past always worked fine I just got sick of the metering issues, my last 2 loads that I worked up were with rl-22 & imr 7828ssc. They definetly metered better, but I was not impressed with the 7828 velocities (low) and although I had no trouble with the rl -22 they claim it is temp sensitive. Being in Canada during rifle season it can be anywhere from +10 *C to - 35*C some times with in the same day the temp can very that much, not often but it has happend. The Ramshot web sight had data for a 160 gr tsx and a162gr hrndy a-max. I believe the a-max is closer to an accu-bond for B.C. and legnth, and starting at min load could work up aload from that data, I was hoping some one uses it and has a load and could also comment on metering and any temp problems. Plus I was at a gun show and at 25$/lb I thought it was agood buy. I also picked up 2 more boxes of accu-bonds at 28$/50 not bad for canada's prices. They wanted 48$ for 160gr parts for 50.
I worked up one load using Magnum, though I used 175 grain PTs. Velocity was excellent and accuracy was very good. I haven't worked up a load using the 160 grain AB as yet. I use the 7mm RM as my "heavy seven."
I would be interested in what you find out with Magnum,, 160 AccuBond work. I will be using the same bullet in mine but really have not started working up any loads as of yet.
I'll be working on a couple of loads with the magnum powder , allthough not for a while still catching up at work. when I get some spare time I'll work some up tough going to the range when it's -20* C right now.
