Below are the standard 180 gr CE with a couple of experimental bullets the Prez of CE sent me for testing. Notice the different ogives location of grooves. Shown is the 180 BT with the 30 CE and 260 AB with the 300 CE for reference.

When you can't pull the trigger because of wind, that is the next best thing. It generates anticipation. Those look to be some potent rounds, Fotis. The Cutting Edge bullets look wicked.

Fotis,
Wonder what the Cutting Edge 180's would give me in The 300 Rum?
Do they offer any distinct advantage that you know of?

Don

I can't wait to hear of your range results.

So far from what I have seen and heard.
Super high BC
very accurate
expansion at very long ranges.
and super penetration.

Here you go. Look at the long range exits!! A little graphic.....

Sweet! Can't wait for the range report! I have a question on seating depth though...I very well might be highly confused but from doing a bit of research on the CE bullets I thought that I had read somewhere that you were not supposed to seat the seal tight band into the case neck? It looks like the one in the 378 Wby is way into the neck....did I miss something or is it just a recommendation not a rule?

To be honest with you I sat the 378 Bee's to 3.735".

That is the maximum length required to eject an unfired round without having to remove the bolt from the action.
Coincidentally it fits in the mag too!

If it shoots then I am lucky! If not oh well!

Also from the CE Webpage

Brass casings should be trimmed to standard trim length. Ensure the inside of the case mouth is chamfered a minimum of ¼ of the brass wall thickness. This will ensure the SealTite band is not sheared off if it needs to be installed further into the case than at the mouth of the case.

Hope so Jim. We will see what they do in the range Saturday morning. Weather is still looking good for then.

Ok going out tomorrow.

Made up some more ammo.

My buddy Adam volunteered his Savage tactical 300 win mag to try the experimental x15 and X17 Cutting edge with RL22.

He wants to check the Berger 210 VLD also

I also loaded some more 180 BT's with RL-17 for the 30-06.

Additionally 210 PT in the 338 win mag with rl 17.

Lastly 300 CE in the 378 with 112 ? IMR 7828.

Wish me luck!

Good luck FOTIS! I'm headed out tomorrow to stretch the legs on my 338 Lapua and I thinks it's a push on if I'm more excited to do that or hear your range report!

Fotis,
I'm looking forward to the range report on the new CE bullets and the 30-06 with R-17.

Man, it must be something when the powder truck pulls up to your door Fotis! You must have to buy powder from an 18 wheeler to keep them monsters fed!
