I just bought me a way cool 7mm Wby barrel for my Encore. I have a great load for 140 AB's, 70 gr RL22 & CCI 250 -OR- 71 gr IMR 7828 & CCI 250. This load gets me 3000+ in my 24" barrel. I am not far away from getting the 160 loads working. My frames are in the shop getting an oil, filter & grease job. Soon as I git 'em back I'll be off to do some 160 gr loadwork. I'll try to keep you informed when I do.
While I have not tried the Accubonds in my 7mm Weatherby Mag, I do shoot the 160 grain Nosler Partitions in it.
I shoot a load of 72 grains of IMR 7828 sparked by a Fed 215M primer. I load to the maximum length the magazine will allow.
I get close to 3200 fps and consistant 3/4 inch groups.
I will be honest, I have had very inconsistant results with the Accubonds. Especially those in .338 caliber. I have tried them in several rifles and have had every possible type of results. I have had rifles that would not keep them in 2 to 3 inch groups and I have had them shoot 0.35 inch groups out of a .338 RUM! You just do not know what each gun will do with them.
I think the Accubonds are great performing bullets, but you just have to test them in your rifle. The only thing I have shot with them was a large wild hog with my 7-08. The 140 AccuBond performed quite well.
