I'll be picking one of these up in a month or two. My cousin is selling it to me for a price I can't refuse. No real use for it, but I have a couple ideas anyway...I already have 3 LR rifles that weigh 16-17#. A 223, 6 Creed, 7-300 Win mag. So my thought was to make this a lighter alternative to my 6 creed for a coyote calling rig. Probably shoot 70g NBTs over H4350 until the barrel is toast, which shouldn't take too long. Then comes the fun part of deciding what route to go after that? A lot of my hunting and shooting is steel at longer distances, out to really however far you can see out here, which is miles. But typically I like to play out to 1K. I have an idea as to what I'd like to rebarrel too, but I feel like almost anything I do, is going to have some overlap between the 223 and 6 creed. I shoot 75 eldms at 3000 and 108 eldms at 3025. Let's hear some of your guys thoughts and opinions on what to rebarrel to!

Thought long and hard about a new 25 cal for a couple few reasons. First, the 25/06 was what really got me started into my LR shooting obsession. Second, they finally make some good heavy for caliber high BC bullets, and third a few nice new shiny .257" cartridges have come along. However, I just don't really need a 25 cal 130-135g bullet for what I want, which is a lighter weight coyote/LR steel banger. So that pretty much leaves either the 22 or 6mms. Since I already have a heavy built 223 and 6 CM it's hard to pick something that won't overlap with either. However I think I'm about 95% settled on the 6 GT. It just checks all the boxes. Thinking a 26" Bartlein #3B 7.5 twist and 105-108s at 2900fps would do the trick.

Guess I should add I don't want another barrel burner. I'm about over that phase in my life. And I want to buy Lapua/Peterson brass and load straight from the box. No more wildcats. I like to spend what time I have shooting, and less time at the bench.

This maybe just a rumor, but I heard a new national record was set at 1K for 5 shots under 1" And guess what, it was with the 6 GT. The accuracy of this cartridge is rivaling the BR/Dasher.
