Mauser M12

Google it quite a bit of info on it and its big brother the M98 magnum, new MSRP for the 12 is $1600 something, the New M98 $24,000 something  and the m12 doesn't have mausers trade mark "Claw"

I have handled the M12 Mauser. One of our local stores has a couple in stock. They have only one in wood, the other three were Model 12 Extremes. The wood one was quite a nice rifle. If I could find one in wood chambered for the 6.5x55? Hmmm?

I checked one out today in Olympia, wood stock 30-06. The absolute best trigger I have ever felt on a rifle. The Cabelas in Lacey also have a Sako model 85 Finnbear in 30-06, new for $1299.00. They are holding it fir me until. I can talk myself out of buying it!!! And it has beautiful wood on it.

Guy, ever since I sent the IRS a check last week I have wanted to show them what extra funds are supposed to be spent on! I also have 5 boxes of 6.5x55, left over from my Granddad's stuff, that need to be shot. It just doesn't seem right having ammo lying around and nothing to shoot it out of!!

Never handled a Model 12 but they seem to be of high quality. I certainly like the safety. Good luck with whatever you decide on. Neat video on YouTube about the M12. A couple of Europeans hunting moose. Thought it was very cool.

I agree about extra ammo laying around... I do like the 6.5x55. So far it seems like a lot of fun and very accurate.

The 6.5x55 CZ 550 that I had was an easy shoot and very accurate rifle, even despite the full Mannlicher stock on the rifle. My son gloomed on to it for his son and now I am wondering if I want another one.

I am also putting a new stock on the 7mm Mag Custom and would like to damn every stockmaker who ever glued a stock to a recoil pad, it is just unnatural and harder to get off as well!

Lefty, Thanks for the offer but my son has my 550 Mauser and it has been a safe queen because he is holding it for my 10 YO grandson. My son likes the Mannlicher stock and it is still like new.

No worries, the 7x57 550 I bought last year came with 2 stocks. I took the one off and put the original back on. The first one has some nice figure to it but it was a little beefier then I care for.
