Here is a message I got from my close friend who will be helping me in Oct when I hunt bear in Arizona. Here is a message and video he sent me that he made with his trail camera. I am getting excited for sure.

"Hey Mike I think I found your bear. I picked him up on one of my trail cameras."

Mike,

He looks like a dandy. Always fun to watch them, and more fun still to hunt them. Is this spot and stalk, or will you be using hounds?

It is spot and stalk and that really makes it a lot of work but also a lot of fun. I have beem working out for the last month real hard so I will be in shape. My friend knows this area we are hunting very well since he guides at times and he says there are a few more that are this size and one possibly bigger.

Spot and stalk is my favourite method. At times you can get close and personal, but it is a rush. That bear looked as if he had a pretty good pelt already; and being that fat, he should be right tasty.

Best of luck on the hunt. October will be here before you know it.

Doc, I can't wait. I will be taking my 358Win and for fun one day of the hunt will be in a real tight canyon and I will be taking the 303.

It sounds like a real hoot. Should be great fun to trek the canyons. Hopefully, you'll have some pictures to share after you get back. I know I'd love to see them.

Consequently, since the trail camera was a night shot, am I correct in saying that this is a colour-phase bear? Perhaps a cinnamon?

Yes, you are very observant indeed, it is a colour-phase bear and it is cinnamon.

bullet,

That is a dandy bear for sure. Hope you get him in the cross hairs.
The 35 calibers are terrific for bears, no doubt your 358 Win will seal the deal.

JD338, I sure hope I get a chance to put the cross hairs on that big boy and pull the trigger.

He's a bruiser bullet, but I'm sure that .358 will make for a one-sided argument... Good luck.

Yeah, your right, he is a bruiser and looks like he eats what ever he wants to. Just for fun I hope I can meet him up close, that would be a rush and yes the 358Win will do.

Dang nice bear!!! Can't wait to read about your hunt!

I'm already excited for the upcoming bear seasons.
