Model 48 muzzle dia ?

On Nosler's chart, I see 48's with light and heavy barrels listed.

What's the diameter at the muzzle on these two contours. In particular I'm trying to figure out how "heavy" the heavy contour really is.

The light or "Sporter" weight barrels measure .600" at the muzzle, the heavy or "Magnum" barrels measure .650".

There is some slight variation depending on the caliber, but this is pretty close.

Thanks! Those are both pretty mild. I didn't think the "heavy" barrel was some sort of varmint contour, and I'm glad it's not.

Yeah, the "Heavy" vs "Light" name was a little misleading. In our 2012 rifle catalog, the description is now "Magnum" vs. "Sporter".
