I just got a 300wsm I had built in hand. Its based off a rem 700 short action with a 24" brux 1:10 barrel w/HS clip conversion installed.

I have a couple issues

1.Due to the short length of the clip I cant get within .052 of the rifling with an 180 AccuBond. I get a teeny bit closer with a PAR
-All my other rifles are set within .010-.015 off. No real experience deep seating

Any suggestions for a seating depth starting point with 180 gr accubonds. Im looking for advice beyond start at max mag length and go from there even though I know I more or less will have to do this.

2. There is no H4350 to be found within 100 miles of me, so looking for a temperature stable powder alternative.

I haven't run any handloads through it yet. It shot blue box federal 180's decent (around 1") during breakin, so the above may not even be an issue, but would love any advice to avoid going thru 150 rounds trying to find a node

Accubonds seems to like a good jump, start where the bullets fit and feed and see what happens. Can always go deeper if needed.

AccuBonds appear to yield better accuracy seated from 0.050 to 0.100 inches from the lands. I seat AccuBonds in my WSMs at 0.100 inches from the lands in most cases. Other temperature stable powders that may work for you include IMR 4451, IMR 4955 or H4831. Unless you routinely shoot over 450 yards or in extremely hot temperatures, you will not find much POI shift with other Hodgdon or IMR powders.

Mikes advice is spot on. I've seen the exact same with my old 300 WSM.

I load to factory OAL and as said AB's like jump. I use IMR4350 from 20-90 degrees and it is not as scary as the internet leads you to believe.
