Just like Guy, I find myself very drawn to the big bore Marlin lever action rifles.
My wait to get another one wasn't quite as long as Guy's, but I have been waiting for close to 30 years to get the rifle, cartridge combo I've been wanting has made itself available, so I took the leap, and ordered it this past Wednesday.
It's the classic 22 inch barreled, Model 1895 with Ballard rifling, and 1 in 20 twist, in .444 Marlin. It's going to be exactly like Guy's.
I know a few on this forum have either had or own a .444 Marlin, and love them, which I'm sure I will as well.
Something about the ballistics, and the type of game it can take has appealed to me since 30 years ago, and to this day.
I'm so glad they brought the grand cartridge back.
I will put pics on here as soon after I pick my rifle up.
