G'Day Fella's,

I recently viewed this video on the http://www.fishnhunt.co.nz/forum, and thought you may enjoy it!
I was then able to work out how to Copy and Paste it here.
I'm not as computer illiterate as I thought......Wow!!!

By the way and as you may notice, in NZ you only need a Shooters License to purchase a suppressor/silencer as they are not regulated, in any way!

Regards
Homer

Excellent. Several thoughts formed as I watched the video. Sure looks funny to these northern eyes to see June listed as winter hunting. I truly enjoyed the musical accompaniment. Those critters sure do live in some foreboding territory. The terrain looks similar to our Rockies next door to me. Shoot a Tahr and the meat is tenderised by the time it stops falling. Great stuff, Homer. I'm going to have to make it over to NZ before my ticket is punched to leave this life. Again, excellent video.

G'Day Fella's,

Dr Mike, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video!
Aussies are so lucky to have NZ so close (3 hr flight away, from Sydney) to us, we are spoilt.
And as the advertising and the song goes, NZ, "It's a Slice of Heaven", on earth!!!
Hunting Tahr (pronounced- "Tar") in NZ, is the single hardest physical work and psychological challenging thing I have ever done, in my hunting life!
But I loved it so much, I just kept going back for more!!!

Doh!

It looks very similar to goat hunting in the BC Rockies  gerry has been able to enjoy that hunt a number of times (y)! Thank you for posting that video.

Blessings,
Dan

G'Day Fella's,

Pleased to here you blokes enjoyed it!
Whilst foreign hunters don't need to utilise a guide in NZ, I (as well as many of my mates) have at times engaged Peter Chamberlain from http://www.nzwildhunt.com and recommend him without hesitation!
Not only does Pete have an immense amount of NZ hunting knowledge and experience, he is a great man to be away bush with!

Sask boy, for my next OS hunt, I want to go after a Rocky Mth Goat (RMG)!
I see that RMG are also on Kodiak Island, so if good size RMG are available there, I may consider ($$$), also going after a Brown Bear at the same time?

Hope that helps

Homer,

Goats can challenge a hunter; or they can be a walk in the park. One site I've hunted is literally a walk up an decommissioned logging road to a bowl where the goats hang out. Another site is accessed by a drive to a well site and the goats actually come down to the well. Crazy, I know. Usually, there is more of a challenge, however, as Gerry can tell you.

G'Day Fella's,

Dr Mike, Thank You for bringing me up to speed on the situation with RMG!

As an aside to this, yesterday I received a call from a mate of mine Tim, that is working in the US at present.
He told me that he was planning a RMG (and Sitka Deer) hunt as well. I then suggested that if the RMG's have a reasonable horn size, I see you can hunt them on Kodiak Island!
Tim then went on to say, that was where he would be hunting them! Small world hey!

If I can afford to, I really would like to hunt a Brown/Grizzly Bear and Caribou etc, at the same time..........................

Doh!
