Does Nosler make one? Or can a person use a 45 caliber bullet with a Sabot in a 50 caliber muzzle loader?

Corey

You can use .451 cal bullets, just make sure yo have the correct 50 cal sabot. I use the .451 cal 260 gr PP in my T/C Omega for deer hunting.

Is the PP protected point? How well does it expand on deer?

Corey

Corey,

This is the Partition Handgun bullet, .451 cal 260 gr HP, p/n 45260.
They open up well on deer and leave an exit about the size of a quarter.
I shot a buck a few nights ago quartering towards me and it didn't exit. I am hoping to find it when he gets cut up.
I shot a buck two years ago that hit the point of the shoulder and exited the off hind quarter after breaking the femur bone. Serious penetration.

I have also used the 44 cal, .429" 250 gr Partition and they also work very well.
