I found: a Sako TRG 42 wtih NF 5.5-22 on a 25 MOA rail, with factory muzzle brake, 300 brass and a 500 box of 250 grn SMK's for $4250 Cad oh yeah, and a aluminum hard case.........

This gun has been on my wish list for a few years, they are $3700 now plus $500-800 for the brake and NF scopes are aound 4200 and the brass is $4 each.

I am still not sure I could justify spending that on a rifle. Maybe for a 338 Allen Mag, but then I'd still need the NF scope....

You can always justify the expenditure. However, your wife may not be able to justify the addition to your gun safe. It could cost you--kitchen appliances, dining room furniture and home renovations are expensive, and there seems always to be a trade-off.

Do you have a dog? If so, how well do you get along with it? Also, how big is the doghouse? Reason I ask is if you were to buy the rifle, your wife may make you sleep with the dog IN the doghouse.

That use to happen to me, those good deals, but I found a solution for those moments. If I don't have extra, I don't go looking and end up punishing myself or falling into envy, lust and uncontrollable desire

Of course there is the other problem and that is when you have money you can't find a thing you really want for a good deal.

Must be something to that Murphy's Law thing. 8)

It seems like my dad always gets in on those deals about 3 years ago he got a 97 jeep wrangler for 800 bucks and it was a 6 cyl I guess the guy thought the rear end was blown so he quit making payments my dad sent a letter to the bank with his offer and they took it. Come to find out the bolts that hold teh ring gear in wear broke a few new bolts and some gear oil and he was set!

Another missed opportunity was a model 70 ss with boss in 7mag with a 2.5-8 vari x 3 for 500

A man can go broke buying alot of "good" deals......
I haven't got the money availible to buy that if I could convince my wife, but it sure is a nice outfit.

Yeah, amazing how easy it is to 'save your way into the poorhouse.'

And you can do it a little at a time. Bought a box of Winchester 250 Sav. because I wanted the brass :? and it was two dollars a box cheaper than the Remingtons. So while putting it away this afternoon I came across a box from 2006 that was almost 8.00 a box cheaper. :( :( Some bargain.... CL
