Now who would buy something like that back in 1978 and fail to fire it. Yes, you do need help; but it is doubtful that anyone on this forum will be capable of providing what is needed. Seriously, terrific find. Congratulations.

All I can say is there must be a lot of guns around Cheyenne (sp?). What a great place it must be. I need to get over there this fall if I get out that way.

Yeah, the ONLY thing keepin' that from following me home would be total lack of funds. Lucky for me. Nice rifle. Imagine the VAULT Pop must have. CL

Fotis,

Wow, nice find buddy! Congratulations on a beautiful Ruger #1.

I figure with a little luck, by the time I get Social Security I "might" find a load for them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pop you are one sick man :!: I love those number one's!! I think I need to bring my number one's down to Cheyenne so we can go shoot some prairie dogs with them this spring or summer! You do have to understand that I am having some number one envy though as I ONLY have two, a 6mm Remington and a 30-06.

Dr. Mike you sure hit the spot when you said who would buy something like that and not shoot it! When I purchased by 6mm Remington, it only had about one box (20) rounds through it and had sat in a closet! It is a commerative model made in 1976. Who would not hunt and shoot something like those? A guy I work with had a fancy custom 280 Remington put together by Cooper Arms in Stevensville. It is gorgeous and just begs to be used, and he calls it his "SAFE QUEEN"! He plans on only going out and shooting it once in a while, and NEVER hunt with it!! :?

Nice score Fotis! Another great cartridge. Knew you couldn't go too long without a 7RM in your safe. Scotty

No need to feel bad about this one POP; no mortal could have let that stock get away. Same goes for the other 7 or 8 Number Ones (or is it 9 now??). And for the Weatherbys...

Pop,

I imagine that there are only a few calibers left for you to get to "complete" your #1 collection.
Ya may as well start getting the dies lined up.

I'll bet you are going to fire it and ruin it.

how so? :p

See! You are going to shoot it. I knew it.

Just kidding of course.
What a beautiful piece of wood on that buttstock, and I'm not kidding this time.

The only one I can not bring myself to shoot is my 1970 (NEW UNFIRED)
Sako Finnwolf in 308 win. Bought it a couple of months ago and it is happily yet boringly residing in my safe......

Sako finnwolf in 308 Win. Made early 70's new never fired. Original Sako removable rings and Sako rear peep sight. Peep rotates 180 degrees for 100/200 yard shots! All unused.

I just do not sleep.

Got eyes everywhere brother!

Do you think you are going to shoot the Sako? Man, I know it would be hard to fire it, but man, it looks like it deserves to hunt! Scotty
