Poor brass

I was loading up some .223 with Winchester brass. Had 12 of them that had such poor primer pockets that I could not seat a primer in them. I've never had that problem before with any brass. I could see just inside the rim was a ring/band and though I tried to clean it up it didn't help.

Haven't been that irritated for some time. Good thing the wife made a raspberry pie today. Some ribs, baked tater, salad and pie alamode will take the edge off.

Now if it would just quit snowing.....

Sounds like a military crimp...was this new brass and of the same lot?

Btw...sounds like the wife knows exactly how to help your reloading experience!
