I found a brand new Remington Model Seven .260 in stainless steel with synthetic stock for $549.99. They said it was a pretty good price on the rifle. Does this sound like a good deal?

Sounds like a good price to me.
260 Rem is a cool cartridge too.

The price doesn't sound horrible but the plastic stock is not the greatest. If you can find a 260 in a 700 action with a laminated or walnut stock I think you would be further ahead...just my opinion. I once had a model 7 in 308 but prefer the 700 action. The 260 is definitely an awesome caliber as is the 7mm08 for that matter.

I think that is a pretty good price for a new rifle. Nice caliber. The Model 7 is a little short for me but if it fits......BUY IT! :)

For a SS I'd say go for it... the CDL's in other calibers are bringing into the $700's
As Yote said... not a horrible price at all... just nothing fancy with the stock.

Cool, thanks guys. The rifle would be for my son and or wife to use, way to small of a rifle for me to shoot comfortably. The stock did not look too bad, but I don't know anything about them. I will probably have to wait anyway, becaue I can't come up with the funds right now. I hate that.

My wife shoots a youth model 7 in the .260 very comfortably.
I'd put the recoil more towards the .243 side than the 7-08 side.
