question for ca hunters

i got drawn as an alternate for an elk tag at fort hunter ligget and my question is does anybody know of an alternate that actually ended up with a tag for anything?

I was 4th alternate for a elk hunt at Klamath. I got a nice cow elk.
A lot of people put in but don't expect to draw so they make other commitments, don't have the cash or time or simply don't respond to Fish and Game's notice. Fort Hunter Leggett has a lot of elk in areas 22/23/24 and the South East end of the base in general. In the winter they come out on the flats (Tank live fire range) by Lockwood and Jolon. thanks for the reply Greg, I wasnt sure if I should get excited or not .Ive hunted hunter ligget before so I know my way around it some thats why I put in for the tag there

FWIW, the former Vandenberg AFB Commander (Col. Buck) was an alternate last fall and ended up getting a tag - his first entry for a FHL elk tag. He harvested a nice 6x6.
