I'm curious about the published B.C. for the 225gr. 338 AB.It's listed as .549 B.C.Thats only.010 +/- the 250gr. SGK.While the 225gr. Partition is listed @ .454 B.C.I'm asking because I have tested it @ ranges up to 500yds.,& my results suggest that it performes closer to the Partition. Also,my Infinity software suggests that it's posted B.C. may be too high.ie. The program lists verry similar trajecteries to the published data, but the rounds actually impact low @ long range,& high @ short range. Not trying to start anything.Just curious.

If your trajectory is lower then it should be at Long range, I would think the BC is lower then advertised. When I shoot out to 700-800 yards, most the bullets impact lower then what the computer program calls for. Its to my basic understanding that the BC cant be right, according to trajectory anyways. However, a computer generated figure and your actual trajectory is usually different, but can be matched up at long range. That doesn't mean thats the bullets BC, but it does match up at long range by drop. Its a moot point if you have target knobs. Just click up how many clicks you need to be dead on at, then thats where you really need to be, not what the computer says.

I'm pretty sure the BC is lower than advertised. But since I don't know how Nosler arrives @ a BC for a particular bullet,I can't say for sure.I do know that ALL the Sierra bullets I've used have matched up perfectly with the Sierra Infinity software. The AB is the 1st bullet that hasn't.But thats exactly why I field test everything before I put it to actual use.The POI difference is only 6" @ 500yds. So it isn't a big deal.I was just supprised by the discrepancy. Thanks for the reply. :)

I've shot the 115g btip and the 308", 180g bt and 200g AB all at 800 yards and can say that in my conditions, the BC nosler gets and what I put in, does not work out. I always have to use a lower BC, hence more clicks, to get where I need to be. Usually the difference is not big, but noticable at LR. If I remember right, my bullets were impacting about 8-16" low depending on the bullet. I to have found sierra to usually be spot on with there BC's. Another company I have grown fond of is Berger. There BC's are very high, and so far, have been dead on for me and my rifles all the way to 1150 yards.

Thanks.I'm glad theres someone out there that has seen the same differences that I have,& goes to the trouble to varify things, rather than just trusting a computer to spit out the right information all the time.I have started to use the 225 Partition specs in the program,& that seems to be verry close.
Good Shooting.

Well for what I do, and thats hunting out to 700 yards in good conditions, and target shooting to 1000, I owe it to the animals and myself for checking things out. You cant ever trust a computer when the ranges get to be out there aways. Only way to know is to get out there and start sending bullets downrange. Good luck to ya!

AMEN to that.I only wish that more of the hunters I encounter in the woods were as respectfull of the animals they hunt.
