Help! I need some data for a 24" barrel (its at the Smiths, don't know the actual throat length on this Model 700 factory 300 wby yet) I could wing it with all the data I have so far, but none are for over 62K, and I would "like" to get 64K or as close as the rifle likes them. It would also give me Boundary Limit to check with my Chronograph. I have Remington brass for my hunting loads and a mix of Norma/Hornady brass for practice. I also have N560, 7828, Magnum, H4831/4350 and a few others. I am really interested in what N560 gives. I'm having my Leupold 2.5x8 with CDS put on it, so I am staying with the heavies for now, can dial it in. All help very much appreciated!

Thank you Rev Doc! I got right at 3100 in a 26" 300 RUM/Retumbo for my SIL's rifle/200 NAB. I found some 200 Partitions which I prefer. I never shot it faster than 2600 thereabouts in my last 24" 30-06. Even 2900 has got to be a thumper! I will now Sing.....

Thanks guys! I haven't had any R22 for years now, but I shot alot of it "back in the day", ha. I had a bit of an issue with it in my first 280 Ackley. My load was fine up here in Utah, but an early February exotics hunt in Texas gave me flat primers and "almost" stuck bolt! Spooked me. ha

Perhaps its because mine was a little under max. I hunted south Texas and South Africa with it. Three rifles, used 200 gr AB and PT interchangeably. Then again every rifle is different. I use IMR 7828 with 180 grn. Again Under Max

Great loads. What Primer and COAL are you siting those.
I still have some RL22 and IMR 7828 because I saved them from my 300 WBY. Been my favorit cartridge since 1986

What brass and primer are you using Pard? I have seen some older Dupont data that shows 83gr 7828/200, must be running 65K I would think. I like to be around 64K, just for grins. I have used what I call "hot loads" in Norma brass (Wby) and they are just too soft, primer pockets open up pretty fast. I have some new Remington for hot loads. I have some Wby and Hornady brass for milder/practice loads, etc. OR, find a hot load in one them and just use it for hunting, one and done. I really don't know anything about Hornady brass, does anybody know how good it is?

The Hornady brass I have is a little thicker, has a couple of grains of water less capacity. Take into account when loading.
I have never had issues with primier pockets with WBY brass,

I think about 3.7 is mag lenght for my MKV's. I typically load to 3.556 or what ever the book load is. I have not played with seating depths on WBY cartridges.

I have a Remington factory rifle in the BEE, but have not had time to check the seating depth, leade or anything. I would "assume" it being a SAAMI cartridge that Remington would have the same long throat/leade. I'll be checking it for sure. Thanks for the info, sounds, so far, like the Hornady would be tough brass. Remington is known to be thicker, but not in all cartridges it seems. I work up slow anyhow.
