Well, here are some results from the 264WM and Retumbo. It is very promising. Started kinda low in the load ramp, but accuracy is there, just need to add some more powder to get some speed. It was 100* again, but I made the best of it and got a tan.

Those are the targets and speed. 69 gr's was jacked from the beginning as the rifle was still to warm and I forced it. It it hard to slow down and I pay for it everytime. I still have alot of room to increase charge weight and get this rifle blasting the way it should be, but overall, Retumbo is working well. If I could just get a cooler day, I would be in Heaven! Brian, thanks for forcing Retumbo down my throat. I think it is going to work. Just gotta keep on it! The rifle seems to start slacking off around the 15 round mark, and the bore is disgusting right now. I think with a clean bore, I should be pretty darned close to getting a load the next time out. Things were going well until I hit the 14-15th round down the tube. Scotty

Scotty,

The 65.0 gr load looks good but on the slow side. I would go up and see if you can find a second node.
Looking good.

How about some IMR4350, H4831SC, and IMR4831. Nosler says in their number 6 that IMR4350 is most accurate! IMR4831 lists over 3100+ fps. This coming from an armchair quarterback who does not own a 264 Winchester magnum!  Since I am not in the 6.5 group, but that would be only because of lack of funding as I want a 6.5-06, I probably should keep my .02 to myself!

David, I bought some IMR4350, but I think Nosler's load data is a shade on the fast side for powders and the 264. I will give it a whirl though. Mike has ran it in QL for me, so I am thinking, like Jim says, the 2nd node will result in the high 3200's and low 3300's for the 130 and Retumbo. I am going to try IMR4350 next though. I KNEW you were going to recommend it!

Now, go get a 6.5-06 David. I think you would be in heaven and think you are shooting a 458 after shooting all those miniature 6mm's and 25's! Scotty

+1

I like the accuracy, but I do believe you can find another node.

I am working off the data you provided Mike and it runs to almost 73gr's I believe, so I have alot of hope for this rifle. Scotty

Scotty, it looks like it is trying to shoot for ya. That 65gr load would do, but I'm thinking the same thing you are. More fps would be great if it shot like that!

It will shoot Jake! I think it will come into itself pretty quick. It is making me work, but I have a feeling it will come around. Scotty

The 65 and 69 grain loads have low SDs. If that holds over a couple of more tests, it would suggest that playing with seating depth should gain the accuracy you want. How far off the lands are you now? I believe I'd focus on the 69 grain load and seat several sets about 0.040 inches apart to see if one stands out above the others. Sometimes, seating depth can make dramatic differences.
