Got out to the range with my new to me Vanguard S2 and showing some promise. Put a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 on it and put it in a B&C Medalist stock.

Load
Nosler 150gt PT
55grs H4831
W-W case
WLR primer
3.320" OALImageUploadedByTapatalk1445635984.779053.jpg

Looks good to me! I'd just play with the seating some, or not that's plant of accuracy for any shot I would ever consider taking.

Nothing wrong with that for the first time out! I bet with a little work on the seating depth it will be right there for you (y).
Thank you for the range report with a photo!!!

Blessings,
Dan

Very gratifying when the first load delivers accuracy such as that. Tweak or not, that load will hunt.

Thanks guys. Will be taking it out the first week of Nov for anterless WT and elk.

Real nice Boomer. Just curious. How far off the lands did you go? I just loaded a few .035 off the lands. Hope I get three touching like you did. (y)

No, didn't run it over the chrono yet. Hope to get out again soon and will for sure do that. I just loaded them to the Nosler load data specs, so did not play with OAL.

That's a great group. It almost takes the fun out of load development when they come together that quick. How do you like the S2 medalist combination? Please post a pic of it if you can, as I've been kicking around the same idea.

Got out to the range today and ran my load over the chrono - averaged 2829fps and shot well again. Looks like I am all set for elk.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445993654.842799.jpg

A consistent load that will produce when the need arises. You are set!

Nice shooting that group is going to serve you well .
I am looking forward to a great story of a downed Elk, hopefully with photos.

Blessings,
Dan

Looks to me you found a great starting and stopping point. That load will kill all day long.
