Thanks to some great load suggestions from the folks here it was a very rewarding day at the range today@ 100 yds.

Remington CDL...7mm08

45 gr IMR 4350...120gr NBTs... 3 shots...0.44" MOA
43.5 gr RE 15......120gr TSXs...3 shots....0.70" MOA

Wby custom 30.06...26" bbl

57gr IMR 4350...165gr NPTs...3 shots...0.65" MOA
57gr IMR 4350...165gr Hornady SST IL... 0.58" MOA

Its always rewarding to be able to catalog a successful load and just worry about maybe tweaking it a bit. My next outing will be with 180gr for the 30.06(ELK)although the 165 NPTs are fine I think for Elk.

I will return to the 140gr Accs and NPTs with the new CDL next time. BTW I LOVE this CDL! It is a really nice rifle...

Sounds like you got a good CDL. These days accuracy of factory guns are hit or miss.

Northwoods, I've hunted Elk on many occasions with my .300WSM using 165 grain partitions and I can tell you they work perfectly. There's a reason Nosler calls the .30 caliber 165 Grain their all around bullet. best of luck.

Northwoods,
I'll have to look when I get home tonight, but I have a 7-08 BDL Varmit.
It's one of my best units. I use 140 & 150 NBT with IMR-4350. The 150's I shoot at max powder load, and get under .5 MOA.
Don't shy away from using that round for Elk. I've taken many elk with that round out to 400yards. Works great!
