Reloader 25 in the 300 win mag ?

I have always loaded the 300 WM with 180 gr PT's and RL22. Sub MOA accuracy and around 3000 fps. Looks like nomosendero is doing well with RL25 so you might want to give it a try.

nomosendero, what is your charge weight and what kind of accuracy are you getting?

Well, I had good luck with RL25 in a 24" bbl Ruger tang safety model using Rem Brass, fed 215, 82.0 gr RL 25, 180 Hdy sp, OAL 3.330. Ave velocity was around 3120 on the chrono and sub moa @ 100 yds. I ended up trying this as nothing I fed it would shoot using RL22. Although RL 22 produced good velocity as well at the 75-76 gr range. Looking at POP's quickload figures show this RL 25 load to be in the stratosphere pressure wise. Maybe I had a slow lot of powder. This was a Slightly compressed load. The brass seemed to last quite well and the primer pockets weren't toast after one shot. My advice on using RL 25 would be to start at RL22 max load levels and work up slowly from threre using a good chronograph and checking for pressure signs carefully.

Quickload is only a reference. Guns and powders vary lot to lot.....

Yes, this is one of the reasons that I don't like to list charges of my loads.
It must be hot for some, but I used 80gr without any problems. This is in
a 26" Sendero tube.

Some 300 win mags have freebore and some don't. If you've ever played with 300 wby's with and without you know it makes a "huge" difference. Depending on how much freebore in a 300 win mag it could easily make a 2-4 grain difference in max loads. Thats why it's important to develope loads with a chrono and common sense watching brass reaction.
