Hi Folks,

I'm more reader than writer here, but now I need your help for the
6,5x57 Mauser, I want to reload with 130grs AB.
Got various experience with different rounds as 308, 30-06, 300 WinMag,
222Rem, 8x57IS , 8x68/6,5x68 and 9,3x62 for hunting purposes,
most of them reloaded with Nosler and Barnes Bullets.
Powders on my bench are Vitavouri 133, 135, 140, 160 and 560, as well as H4350 (one of my favorites) and RWS R903, R904, R905 for rifles.

Could anyone provide me actual data for this cartridge ?

Rifle is, see my nick  , a Mauser 66 bolt action with Zeiss 2,5-10 x 52 scope for hunting wild boar and reh deer.

Would be great.

Thanks in advance
Klaus

Vitavouri has data for both the 6.5x57 and the 6.5x57R in their manuals useing 125gr Nosler Partitions. I`d use the starting data for that bullet and work up carefully in your rifle. I doubt you will find data for your cartridge for the 130 AB so soon after introduction, especially in a cartridge that has such limited use here in the states.

Sorry I can`t be more help

The Sierra manual has data on the 6.5X57 with their bullets. It would give you a good idea of what to try with the 130 Nosler AB. By the way, I have found that the .264 130 Nosler AB is a very accurate bullet and it really does a good job on white tail deer out of my 264 Win Mag. I am pushing it to 3350 fps muzzle velocity. I killed a 175 pound buck at 275 yards and a 140 pound buck at 135 yards with this bullet week before last. I could tell no difference in the bullet performance. The bullet entered the front shoulder and expanded very well and destroyed the heart and lungs and exited with about a quarter size hole. Both deer dropped in their tracks.

I prefer N160 for everything from 120 grains upwards in my 6.5x57. I also tried N140 and N150 but it's N160 I like best. Just for fun I once loaded 52 grains (= slightly compressed load) of N160 behind a 100 grains FMJ and it was surprisingly accurate. When I started reloading I used R(ottweill) 904 and H(odgdon) 4350 for quite a while, but changed to Vihtavouri due to price and availability.

I haven't used the AccuBond, but my load of 46 grains behind the 128 grains Rws KS bullet makes a moderate Roedeer round and 46 grains behind a 140 grains Partition a (near) maximum round for heavier game.
If I had to load the 130 AccuBond for my rifle (a Sauer 200) I would start with 45 grains N160 with a COL of 77,0 mm and work up.
