Good luck with that Preacher, I won a Vanguard in 300Wby which had a Tupper ware plastic stock on it, the recoil was so ferocious it would loosen the action screws and tore the forward sling stud out of the stock with a bi-pod attached to add weight and help to hold the muzzle down, busted a brand new scope after the first 20 rounds threw it. Put it in a new B&C composite stock with a metal bedding block and skim bedded. That helped to keep things tight and improved the accuracy greatly. I wasn't shooting max loads but starting loads in it. When I shot loads close to factory velocities it would give me migraine headaches and blurred vision.
I borrowed a bolt on muzzle brake to see if it would help before spending the money for a custom fit brake and though it helped with the recoil the noise was more then I wanted to contend with even with good electronic earmuffs that were noise cancelling.
The muffs were too restrictive for still hunting and still got some sharp noise before they shut down.
Thanks to Fotis it is in the hands of someone else along with the reloading dies and brass.
I'm not recoil shy and have a 338WM, 300WM and my 35Whelen AI. which the 35 Whelen AI has the most felt recoil of the three but no wear near that of the 300Wby with 180gr ammo. (JMO)

I'm taking the rifle back over to my smith. He makes/installs I have had on other big boomers, from Varmint Rifles to elephants guns. Its a 90 deg, 3 Port Baffle type. If that isn't enough ( and I'm sticking with the 165-168 TTSX to start) then I'll try a different type.

Well, last minute Text from a fellow in Michigan that wants it for his son (young adult)! Working on that now.
