Morning all,

So lately I have been looking around for a 10/22 to plink with and target shoot. But they are out of stock pretty much everywhere, and on Gunbroker they seem to be going for a lot more then the MSRP...upwards of $400+ for just a basic 10/22.

What gives with this?!

Gun control paranoia....

Why that would apply to a 10/22 could be the subject of considerable debate but a lot of folks are rushing out and buying anything semi auto- including the 10/22.

Whatever the market will bear. Obama and his minions are some of the greatest gun sales people the country has ever seen. And if you think they are high now, just wait until after Congress finishes their legislation for gun control. I find it somewhat ironic that Canada has at last got rid of long gun registration, and now the States actually talks about it. What a crazy world.

If anyone comes across one in a laminate stock in good to excellent condition, at a REASONABLE price, please let me know because they are price-gouging the hell out of them right now. May be better of sticking to a bolt action platform the way things are going...

My oldest son sure likes his 10/22. Gave it to him years ago when he was just a kid. He's had a lot of fun with that little rifle.

Give it time. This too shall pass. PM me if you want one from Wyoming (not mine)

If I were a betting man I'd be expecting a high cap mag ban to come about and the rifle continuing to be legal. I'd probably be trying to order as many 25 round mags as I could from outfits like Brownells, Midway, etc or pick up any that might be available locally at reasonable pricing.... then wait for the hysteric pricing to come back to the realm of reason on the rifle itself then snag one. But, then again, there are good reasons why I'm not much of a betting man.
