Found these laying around yesterday and thought…. Oh wow, haven’t seen those in a long time!?!

I already developed a load for my 280 AI FMR with the 160 BT, and 160 Partition that both shoot to the same POA. I would have used the 175 Partitions had I not had any IMR 7828 on hand, but I sold it with the Jarrett Rifle.

I said to myself that I wouldn’t shoot this gun testing everything known to mankind in order to find The Holy Grail of hunting loads. So I guess these will have to wait for another day.

They were considered very good hunting bullets and IMO still are, but people Now-a-Days think it’s all about BC!?!

My opinion is that if the velocity has fallen off to the point where the bullet won’t reliably expand what does it matter….. That and holding a limit to maybe 600 yards based on my ability to thread the needle for a clean kill.

I wish that I still had some of the old Trophy Bonded Bear Claws in 7mm, but I currently only have them in 500 gr .458” caliber bullets.

I miss the good old days when hunting was way easier, more enjoyable seeing lots of wildlife and less Wolves invading wildlife habitat around here in Northern Idaho.

It’s funny that in Montana people complain so often and yet I see way more game than around here. It’s always been a beautiful place to hunt, and it sure seems that way still.

One day I’ll have to find something to hunt with these old projectiles. Until then happy hunting. image.jpg

I read that some people were saying that the Deep Curl bullets due to their jackets can sometimes produce pressure spikes?

Has anyone used these before, and experienced anything weird like that? It’s stated that due to the jackets construction, and possibly why they discontinued these bullets?
