Bought some .22 ammo today. Always seem to be running out of that stuff.

While I was in the shop I found a .30-06 Springfield sporter, deep blue finish, decent walnut and a Bushnell scope on it, for $449...

I no more need it than anything - but dang, it's a pretty rifle.

That would be a sweet grab, Guy. Trouble with most of us cranks is that we acquire without truly needing.

I have one on a low numbered 03, its got the classic walnut stock, with the white line forearm, and the plastic butplate. Has a simminons 4 power, I installed a timney trigger, thumb pivot safety, and a stronger and faster firing pin and spring. The 03 is a nice slick action. The rifle looks exactly like a million others did in 1960. Just looking at it is a trip down memory lane.

Are there any 1960'ish bolt rifles you don't have?

I don't have a pre 64 Model 70 nor a 270.
You never saw the Springfield because its in the other safe. Remember I have been selling guns for a couple of years.

Guy did you buy it???

No Pre 64 huh? Man, I would have thought for sure you would have had one of them Bill..

I was able to resist the temptation to buy that beautiful rifle... Dang.

Nice Springfield. Somebody did a great job on it, and someone is going to get a great rifle. I just didn't need it.

It's all priorities - I'm just a sucker for a good looking classic rifle - my weakness I guess.

What I really need is more powder, more primers, non-resident tags and hunting expenses for the Wyoming hunt... Etc...

Have a couple of rifles that may well need new barrels soon too. Ugh. That gets expensive.

So, I'll keep shooting my good ol' rifles. They do just fine.

I admire your discipline. Stay strong. There is always something to spend the money on.
