More shooting is done this time of year bar none......metallic and shotshell.
Protect those eyes!!!!
It's not just yourself but most times it's the other shooter dropping a double charge, wrong cartridge for gun, etc...
I had a shooter in Trap right beside me blast a few rounds off and I said what on earth are you shooting. It can't be legal.
He said I was going to tell you they seemed hot.
Needless to say he thought WST powder was Super Handicap powder...
With that mistake the nishing he was ising dropped 30 grains instead of 20 grains.
20 grains of SHCP is at 1250 fps with a 1 1/8 load...
So you can imagine 10 more grains ...
Luckily no one was injured but I doubt his weapon could've withstood much more than the 6 or so shots he fired.
Remember...often times its the other guy and you've no idea what they're loading.
Stay safe my fellow shooters. Quality glasses is about all you can do but don't discount that for a second.
