I just ordered a box of .224 64gr BSB for my newly acquired 22-250. Wondering if anyone has experience w/Hodgtons Superformance powder.

I have burned up a couple pounds in my 300 SAUM and 6 mm Remington. It works very well in those two 180's in the 300 at 2900+ fps and 3400 with 85 & 90's in the 6mm.

...never tried it in ,22-250, but I did load it in .25-06, .25WSSM, .300 & .325WSM. Pretty good accuracy, but I never got near the advertised MV's, & when I got close to MAX my MV's got pretty wonky...

Hybrid 100V might be good for this bullet. Read good things about IMR 8208 XBR but it may be a bit fast for a 60-65gr bullet. Just thinking about trying one of the newer powders. All I have on hand at the moment is Varget and RL 19.

Varget worked great with the 60 PT. Bet it will do fine with the 64's as well.

Welcome aboard, TJay. Always glad to see another gun crank posting. Trust you will enjoy the warm camaraderie.

Thanks Dr.Mike

I have been reading the forum for several years and decided I better join. This forum has a great bunch of guys/gals that always are ready to help each other.

I used 44gr SPRF behind the 68gr Hornady in my last 22-250 Ackley. I didn't clock it but it was awesome! Drop back to 40gr in your standard , you'll probably end up around 41 to 42 before topping out. Good luck
