My Brother called me this morning and came across a T/C Encore rifle chambered in 7MM-08 for sale he's thinkin about getting his son for Christmas. I told him for the right price it would be a good starter gun too begin with. Anyone have any experience with thew standard Encore rifles? If it shoots anything like my Pro-Hunter it should be a home run for him!

I told him if he gets it I'd get the scope, base and rings for it and have a trigger job done on it.

As for new production, I can't help. Otherwise, I would say with a trigger job and good loading practice's, it should shoot well within the 7-08 range capabilities. If the price was right, I wouldn't hesitate.

The Encores are usually shooters.
If the price is right, grab it. Add a muzzle loader barrel and the young lad will be set to go.

The muzzleloader barrel is a good idea! Especially here in OH. We're going too meet the guy tomorrow evening at the gun club and check it out.

Good luck.
Post a picture if you bring it home.
