There is a small possibility I might get transferred to my company's Gilbert AZ office outside of Phoenix.

What hunting can be done there? Thank you

Had family that lived there for years, then they moved to LaGrange Wy.... My BIL hunted coues there. I went along once to help glass etc... Everything bites, stabs and scrapes. Seems as though he had to be drawn to hunt anything.

Next year I am planning to go to LaGrange to hunt.....

AZ has excellent Elk hunting, just tough to get a tag. Coues deer, Mule Deer, Black Bear, Javelina, Mountain Lion, and Dove are abundant.

POP -

I stuck a Coues doe there about 10yrs ago or so - as previously mentioned - WOW ! does everything stick, bite, poke or reach out and grab ya !!!
Bet the wind isn't near as bad though 8)

Thanx fellas. We will see. Not liking the heat though.

Fotis,

I sure hope you don't have to leave Wyoming!! I agree about the heat there in metro Phoenix. It is hot here is south Texas, but it is REALLY hot in Phoenix. It is supposed to get to 105 there today and it is only June.

Keep us posted.........

Bob

The only thing I hate about it is the wind. Great back/front yard and you can dine al fresco maybe 5 times a year here.

I know AZ has some trophy muley and elk but again, they are all draw tags, and not really easy to get sometimes. Northern Az, around Flaggstaff is very nice. Hope you make out well. Scotty

POP,

I lived there for 10 years, married someone from there, so I'm still out that way about 20X a year (live in Las Vegas).

It's a great state, especially for the outdoorsman. They now have a BassPro and Cabelas. That should tell you something.

Depending on which area you hunt, tags can be tough. Southern areas are easier than northern areas. If you have ANY questions, give me a shout. I’m not a “don’t tell him about this area” type of guy.

I know where the Elk and Deer hide. I know great, good and fair areas for Javelina. I’ll get you 10 coyotes in a week (whether you kill them or not is your call). Great Dove hunting, Quail is fair (depends on the spring weather). I’ve never drawn out for Antelope or Sheep but they have them.

I can put you in touch with a premier gunsmith and finisher. I know you’d appreciate a tour of McMillan.

I can go on and on. I’m hoping to get this familiar w/Nevada. So far, so good. Just put 300 miles on truck in a day but I did locate a few areas for yotes.

Take care and good luck,

So Pop, you are just about 8 hours or so from my place in texas. We have great hunting, so if you get there, look me up!

As for AZ, I book a lot of hunters from AZ. Seems like a tough draw without a ton of good places to hunt. the reservations are great, but very expensive.

So, take this as an invitation to come on down and fill an ice chest or 2 with some meat.

Do not tempt me! I went pig hunting in Texas paid a bunch and never saw one! Talk about disappointing! I would love to come down!

POP, I go almost ever year to hunt black bear and there is a lot of public land to hunt but the draw on deer, elk and other animals is tuff to get. I love the country, but if I were you I would take hardpan up on his offer.

Believe it or not, I don't have any pigs or coyotes on this ranch. but, I have too many does.
