I have to thank all for their input on the 300 Win Mag loads, I believe it is JD338 that harps on RL-22 with 180 gr bullets and 75 grains. This load is what mine really likes (.540 group at 100 with 180 AB's). Also got under an inch with 200 AB's with RL-25, but the 180 load really shines! I have a model 700 Remington BDL with a 24 inch stainless barrel, don't know the velocity yet. It usually posts higher than the manuals in the past, the barrel is one of the old blued stainless ones from the early years!

That, and 75-76 gr of H4831 is the magic load with 180 grain slugs.
If your 300 Winnie does not shoot these you probably have a problematic rifle. 8)

Thanks for the range report. Glad the 180 gr load works for you.

I don't think you can go too wrong with RL22 and the 300 Win Mag. I have had excellent luck with 200gr bullets and RL22. Plus, you get the best of both worlds, great speed and excellent accuracy in most cases. Scotty

How much rl-22 do you use in the 200 and what kind of groups/ speed?

I am using WW cases, CCI250 primers, 74gr RL22, and the Sierra GK 200gr SBT. I am getting a little over 2900FPS with it. Accuracy is under an inch at 100 and about the same at 200 when conditions are good. I haven't shot for groups further than that, but I plan on trying shortly. I am shooting a Ruger M77 Stainless w/Laminated stock and a 3x9 Leupold VXII. It is a very potent load. The rifle has a 24" barrel. It is probably one of my favorite loads because of the accuracy and speed. It is one of the loads that makes you look good on the range! Scotty
