This is for FOTIS

Nice one Scotty.

If I were going to buy that rifle, I think I would kick it up a notch and go with the 338-378 Wby.

Not this kid! With the awesome brass available for the Lapua, and Nosler making 300 AB's, I could see that being one awesome rifle!

No offense to the Weatherby crowd but I'd build one before I paid that kind of price for a factory gun. 875.00 for a Stiller Tac338 or Predator, 315.00 for a Krieger or Bartlein, 215.00 for a Jewell, 150.00 or so for bottom metal and mag box, 45.00 for a RWS muzzlebrake, and 225.00 to 500.00 for a stock. If your on the low end of the stocks and paid a gunsmith for the metal work you'd be about the same as the retail price. If you had to pay for a stock work it would cost you more but you'd have a full custom.

Clambering does not do it for me Scotty.

Rifle does!

That is one amazing cartridge. I bet it leaves a nice purple "badge of courage" on the shooter after a day at the range.
But, I wouldn't hesitate to hunt ANYTHING with it. Given the proper bullet and shot placement.

Nice looking gun too.

Tony,

If the rifle fits, there shouldn't be significant bruising, especially if it wears a quality pad.
