358 Win 225gr PT @ 2440 fps
35 Rem 200gr Corelokt @ 2180 fps
270 Win 140gr CL Ultra (Rem Ammo)

I never found time this year to shoot my 270win work up loads for the 140gr B-tip. Using 140gr BT & 100-V, I will rework them a bit because I bought two boxes of 140gr PT's and thats my real bullet of choice for the 270win. I have a box of 140 AB's to try as well just in case the prove more accurate.

.358 Win 225 NAB @ 2450

.358 Win 200 Hornady PSP @ 2500

.243 Win 80GMX @ really fast

45/70 Govt 350 Hornady FP @ 1911fps

30/06 150 Federal Blue Box

Since opening weekend was a bust for me, when I get back out there it's likely to be my .280 shooting a 150 Partition at 2925 fps, my 6mm-284 shooting a 95 Partition at 3350 fps, or my .35 Whelen shooting a 225 AccuBond just south of 2700 fps. I don't see how I can go wrong.

I will have 2 rifles in the line-up:

243-
100 grain sierra's ?
95 grain Nosler BT's if I can get the load where i'm happy

280AI-
160 grain AccuBond one load looks to be pushing 2800fps, working on another load up closer to 3,000fps
140 grain BT's going to try to work up some loads for deer, but not a lot of wiggle room to keep it under 3,000fps since most of my shots will be less than 200 yards

My son took his buck with: 6mm Rem, 95 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip @ 3,000 fps via RL-22

Friend Dani took her buck with: .308 Win, 125 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip @ 3,000 ? fps via Varget

Friend Mike took his buck with: .257 Wby, 100 gr Hornady, factory ammo. Scorching stuff @ 3600 fps according to Weatherby...

I hunted earlier with no success - didn't see a mule deer buck I cared to take. Held out for big antlers and ate tag soup. That happens.

.25-06, 115 gr Nosler Ballistic tip @ 3120 fps via Retumbo (same load & ammo as last year)
.30-06, 165 gr Nosler Partition, didn't bother running it over the chronograph in this rifle, I'd guess 2800+ fps

6mm-95 BT close to 3000, RL22
25-06-115 BT right at 3050, RL22
7 mm RMag, 160 AccuBond, 65.5 gr RL22 (didn't realize how much I like that stuff until this post)
Ohio deer, 12 ga, Hornady SST (shotgun state)
Really want to blood the 9.3 but need to finish the AccuBond workup.
Forgot the 257 Bee. 71 gr RL22 100 gr Etip

Was hoping to shoot the .243 for deer this season but we have a few good size bears roaming the property and I have a bear tag this year...so, I'm going with 165 gr. AccuBond in my 30-06 just in case I get a shot at one of those bears.

Good luck with the bear! Nice call on the .30-06 too.

I like my small bore rifles, but with bears, I like to poke bigger holes.

Best of luck on your hunt!

I learned something about my 30-06 at the range Friday...

It loves 165gr. Accubonds with a 57.0 gr. load of IMR4350.

It pretty much liked every load I shot with 165grAB and IMR4350 but with 57.0 gr., it shot several sub1" 5-shot groups@100 yards...and I'm not that good of a shot. It didn't seem to drop that much either at 200, maybe a couple of inches with it zeroed at 1" high @100 yards.

I think I'm set for rifle season.

Sounds as if you are set. Nothing wrong with a 165 AB giving you that sort of accuracy. Good luck.

Sounds like a bunch of dead deer if you all connect.. Good luck out there. Hope your able to put the hammer down on a few deer..
