Ugly Savage barrel nut & cheap Lee dies

Here's my latest project rifle....Savage s/shot with Pac Nor 1x12 twist 223 Ackley Improved chamber........This is with 50 rds or so out of new barrel. Seems to like Benchmark & H4895

That ugly Savage shoots like most ugly Savages', really well. Never did understand why more folks don't shoot Savage Rifles as they sure are better than most out of the box. My 12BVSS Savage, in 300WSM, shoots 1/2 " groups at 100 yds. I am shooting 150 SST Hornedy bullets pushing it with H414. This is the first and only load I have tried. Going to shoot 150 gr Partitions this weekend...

Don't flinch next time! I have a SAVAGE in a .204 RUGER CALIBER and just shoots OUTSTANDING!
