I was wondering if changing the angle of your gun has any effect on the down range balistics of the bullet. For example if you turned the gun upside down will your bullet perform the same as right side up?

Only if it has controlled-round feeding (assuming it is a bolt action, and not a singel shot), like mausers and their successors. Otherwise the round won't make it from the magazine to the chamber.

Hmmmm......My M700, Sauer 200, and MRI Mt Eagle (Sako) seem to work OK. Upside down, sideways, and even upright :) :) I realize a couple examples don`t mean all will.

The bullet will perform the same but it sure as heck won't hit where the scope is pointing.

Just canting your rifle a few degrees off vertical will have your bullet impacting off of the point of aim much less turning the whole affair 180 degrees.

Interesting... Does it depend on how fast you close the bolt?

Thanks,

Not really, I just work it smoothly & steadly and the rounds chamber fine. As I said I`ve only tried it with 3 rifles not a real good test to claim it will always work, but it shows it should be common occurance that it will.

If you have a M700 or other push feed try it, you might be suprised.
