I dropped off my Sendero (300RUM) with Defensive Edge to have a Brake installed and also sent my VX3 4.5x14 to Leupold for M1 Turrets installed (129.99). Maybe in a couple of weeks I'll have it all back together and finally back to the hills to sight back in.

My buddy has a Sendero in 7STW and we put a scope his wife bought for him on it. A Weaver V16, not to bad and the clicks were right on, so sighting in was quick and easy. Not as clear as the Leupy or Nitrex we also had out there yesterday, but not too bad. I load for his STW using 140gn BT and it just turns them White Quartz to dust/small pieces at 300 yds. Just having fun.

Shawn Carlock will do a great job for you as will Leupold.
Let us know when you get her back and post some pictures.

That ought to be quite a rifle. I've only heard good things about Shawn's work, particularly with that .338 Edge...

Update us when you can!

I have the Gun and Scope back together. I'm going out tomorrow to do some shooting.

I loaded some 210 VLDs w/ Retumbo to try tomorrow also.

Wow, that is an awesome rifle. Wow, that thing is scary looking and the scope looks excellent up on that rifle. That thing should really rock! What kind of brake is it. It looks like it is part of the barrel. Scotty

It looks as if they did a great job on that brake. It should help tame the RUM.

Very nice! Give us a range report.
What was the turn around time from Shawn Carlock?

Shawn had this gun for about 2 1/2 weeks. It came out just like he said it would, tapered and blended right into the Sendero barrel.

I'm having my cup of coffee and loading up to go shooting.

I'll update when I get back, both BTs and VLDs.

Teknys,

Good looking Sendero....
I'm certianly interested in how your experince goes with the 210VLD's I've stayed away from them with mine only because of the twist rate....

let us know....

Woodycreek, How do you like that VX-L on your Sendero. I have one on a Sako 85, 338 Federal, 3.5x10 BC reticle.

The VLDs I loaded with Retumbo at MAX OAL + .005 fits into Sendero box.
92 gns - no pressure signs 3 shots - two holes about .6" ish.
94 gns - no pressure signs 3 shots - two shots - little better.
95 gns - no pressure signs 3 shots about .5- .6" and shot 3 more about a minute apart together just under MOA.

This was with a cross to quartering wind that varied. At times it would move me. I was standing - shooting off a L Sled on the box on the wheeler. It was pretty steady but NOT bench steady.

I did not chrono these yet. So far 95 w/200gn AB and the 94/95 w/210 VLD is what I will trial against each other for long range shooting.
The Edge Brake works well. I shot with out the sled using just the bi-pod standing with gun resting on the box and even though it lifted from the target, it is still "pleasant" to shoot.

The next item to change is that X-Pro trigger. I have a Timney on a Howa, and the Sako trigger are both SO MUCH nicer. I'm not saying the X-Pro is bad, just that there are better options out there.

That is pretty cool. Glad the brake works as advertised. That is some powerful shooting. Looks like you have a great shooter. Scotty

Teknys,

I really like my current setup of 300 RUM Sendero, Vias muzzlebrake, VX-L 4.5-15LR, Mark 4 mount and rings. But i have had very little trigger time with it since i missed alot of deer season after being gutted in Dec. The VX-L seems to gather lots of light with its large objective and 30mm tube. 96 grains of Retumbo and 200gr ABs have worked very well for me. The X Mark is ok if you get it down around 2.5-3 pounds but the Jewell on mine is a great trigger.
