Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at the .458 cal 300 gr BST. It is designed for the 45-70 but would make for a great plinking and squirrel/ varmint bullet in your 458 Lott.

Lovestohunt, do you load your own ammo or are you shooting factory ammo? Who makes your 458 Lott! Pictures are always welcome around here of the big thumpers!

The 350 grain Hornady's have a good reputation for 2000 fps light loads in the Lott for smaller game.

I used the 350 gr. Barnes TSX for 2730 fps. I think Fotis loaded his a little hotter. It was a nice shooting round in the Ruger #1 Tropical. Anything lighter and you take a chance on a wounding one and you wouldn't want to have to go in the brush after one. They have BIG teeth.

Bored are we?

I've shot the Barnes 250gr X's made for the 45-70 recently. My gun shoots them 3150fps with R-7 and they are pretty accurate. The BC is horrible but short range they work pretty good.
