I would like to hear from as many of you as possible on the topic of what is the most accurate bullet you have used? It does not matter if the bullet is used for hunting or target shooting, I am just curious. To date the most accurate bullet I have loaded is the 180gr Nosler BT. I have only limited experience in bullets as I have used: 150grNBT, 165-168grNBT, 180grNBT, 168SMK, 175SMK, &178A Max. I have also had some very good groups with the 150gr NBT which is what I use for deer hunting in Alabama.
What are your favorites?

So far I have had my best groups with 150gr Nosler Ballistic Tips out of my 270WSM. They are followed by the 150gr Nosler Partitions. Overall, Nosler pulls the majority of the weight on my bench, followed by Speer and Hornady. Scotty

Rifle, caliber, & target dependent..

In my 22-250, I use 55gr bulk bullets that drill tiny holes.
In my 243, I can use 80gr PHP's to do the same.
In my 6.5 & 7mm's SMK's.

Way too many variables..

However, deer hunting wise I find that ballistic tips give me the accuracy, performance & confidence I want.

nodak7mm is correct--there are way too many variables to make a blanket announcement. For instance, I just completed work on a .308 that gave me 0.17 inch groups with old Hornady National Match bullets. I've had excellent results with some surprisingly complex bullets, such as A-Frames and Partitions. However, if I'm surveying accuracy, I'll reach for AccuBonds among the first bullets I get, as people usually intend on using the load for game.

The all around hunting bullet in my humble opinion is the AccuBond.
A number of my friends are stating that Berger is taking over but I will always be a Nosler man :)

Blessings,
Dan

For hunting its been the 160 TSX, 7mm caliber

For general purpose the 162 Hornady, BTSP, in 7mm

For general purpose in .308 180 Sierra BT

Best group I ever shot was with an A-Max bullet.

That's some great shooting. Better than a lot of my 100 yard groups! Scotty

As a single type of hunting bullet the AccuBond wins but in some rifles and calibers TSX's and B/Tips vie with Sierra Match Kings for top honors.
Charlie-NY, that's a group to be proud of. WOW!!

In my 7Mag I like the 150 GR.NBT and also the Speer 175 GR. Mag Tip for target and deer hunting here in Alabama. In my 30-06 single shot I like the 150GR. Hornady BTSP and the 165 GR.NBT for hunting and good groups.

7Mags forever and a 30 cal. will "Slam Dunk Um"

Prior to some recent work the 160 grain 7mm AccuBond was the most accurate that I had used.

Most recent work has been with .25 caliber 100 grain Nosler E-Tip. More so than any other bullet that I have worked with this bullet wants to shoot. It wants to be fast and accurate. In the .257 Weatherby it liked IMR 7828SSC, Retumbo, RL19, H4831 SC, and H1000. All powders yielded normally acceptable speed and accuracy.

The H1000 won out with consistent groups, .258" to .320" at 100 yards. All tested loads were very near or just barely over the mid-range loadings listed in the Nosler #6 manual. A 100 grain bullet stepping out at 3480 FPS is impressive to me.

Not one load tested measured over 1.5" inches at 100 yards.

I was out of town all weekend in Las Vegas, a little R & R. I will try to center mass a coyote this weekend to finalize field study.

The accuracy of the bullet is just as dependent as the type and charge of powder, brass, and primer as it is the application and twist rate of the different calibers used. Here is my current listing of cartridges and bullets that are very accurate and effective per applications ranging from varmint, target, medium big game, to large game.

Most of the time I shoot 155 gr Nosler match bullets from my .308 in 600 yard prone matches. They do very well. However I get the same level of accuracy from the 168's, and also from Sierras in 155 & 168 grains.

The Berger VLD's have also shot very well.

All of those bullets are capable of shooting better than I can hold for sure!
