This male wildboar (in german called KEILER) was stopped by my 107-years old cock-double rifle made by Miller & Greis, Munich Cal 9.3x74R by a driven hunt in South Germany (Pfälzerwald). Thanks to John Nosler and his men for the superb Partition bullet but sorry: It was a head-shot between the eyes so that the bullet can't show his performance. The weight was 102 kilogramms after cleaning.
The Cal 8mm Mauser, 9.3x62 and 9.3x74R were the favourite pic-cal in our area, especially on the blood-trail with hounds.

It is always interesting to hear about someone elses hunt and perhaps a little more so when it is from a country where we (or at least I) know so little about its hunting. Thanks for sharing with us.

Hi Tom,

in Germany we have another hunting system than in the US. Most of our hunting areas are private but this day I was invited by the regional forest-department for hunting pics with my German-Longhair-Pointer.
The trophy of the Keiler was mine and the meat was the problem of the foresters but I think the made sausages.

greetings from Germany
