Wolves? In Utah? Well, It's Official!

I'm glad it left Arizona... we already have that Mexican Wolf problem. We don't need gray wolves piling on!

Won't be long until some Obama appointee declares that wandering wolves can't be shot either.

It is illegal to shoot wolves in Utah. They are already investigating whether to charge this guy who killed this wolf! That is why we have the 3-S's!

Might be a hate crime. They shot an illegal alien....

I'm trying to remember just how far back this was but it was on my last hunt in the Kaibab National forest just north of the grand Canyon. I sat on a deer hunt and feeling lazy so I took a stand on a hillside overlooking a water hole used by deer. Things just weren't moving that day, probably because it promised to be a rather warm one in the mid 70's so when I saw movement the other side of the pond I picked up the binocs and watched hoping it was a legal deer. Two of the biggest coyotes I ever saw with beautiful fur came out a drank, then played and cavorted in the sun. I figured this was a mating pair and those hides had to worth a few bucks. I didn't shoot because it was a grand sight making an otherwise lousy hunt day a little better and anyway I gave all my hide stretchers to my hunting buddy when I left Nevada. Talking to a Game Warden a few days later I told him about what I'd seen and he said that was a pair of wolves that had moved in. From the tone of his voice he wasn't too happy they were there. I don't know if they were the Mexican variety or some from up north.
For those not familiar with the area, look up Jacob Lake in Northern Arizona as see just how close they are to the Grand Canyon.
Sure do wish I could draw a tag up there again. :(

I saw a wolf on the California, Nevada border (White Mountains) in about 1975. I thought it was a coyote at first, he/she was about 400 yards away. When I realized that this was no coyote, was when I realized his color was wrong and he was too big to be!

I did not tell anybody because everyone in California Fish and Game act like Mister Know-it-all and I did not want to be ridiculed. But Coyotes are not German Shepard sized with brown and red fur!

+1 for Shoot, Shovel, and Shut Up.

As they claim they lived all over the U.S. let's turn a pack of 20 loose in DC and NYC and see how long these people decide its a good idea and ask them how much they want a gun I bet it would change there attitude real quick. One of Mother Nature's alpha predators a beautiful sight a far a menace up close. Give them a true meaning of what they are doing to those of us who deal with them on a day to day basis.
