wsr as substitue for wsp

Yes you can, I have used small rifle primers in my 40 S&W IPSC loads for years.
A lot of three gun shooters also do it to help consolidate reloading components.
Shooting my loads over a chrono I only had to drop my charge .5 grains to get the same velocity as a pistol primer.
Just drop your charge and work up.
Another thing is small rifle primers have a thicker cup and if your firearm has had any trigger work to lighten it up you may get misfires.

G'Day Fella's,

SAS874Runner, as Velvetant mentioned, I also use Small Rifle Primers in my .38 Super pistol loads!
IIRC, Small Pistol and Small Rifle primers have the same dimensions (Diameter & Length) but Large Pistol primers are shorter that Large Rifle primers!!!

What ever you do, don't use Small Pistol Primers in any normal Rifle loads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope that helps

Doh!

Thanks for the help guys. I bought some off the site wayno had posted. I didn't wanna use my small rifle primers if I didn't have to solely due to the availability of them. With it being so hard to find components. Small rifle and small pistol primers I didn't wanna take supply from my other guns if I didn't have too. As much as I don't like buying powder and primers online I bought 3000 just to hold me over til this whole thing lightens up enough you can buy them instores. Thanks for your input though. Ots good information in the event I ever do need to substitute.
