Hey!
Silent Sam SPEAKS! =-O
I whole heartedly agree SS!
No need to look any further than what is already infront of you kinda thing.
I love the 7.5, and the K-31!
I love how the K-31 feels in my hands, and the weight of the rifle.
No complaints here.
With the extraction problemI had on my 760, I went from very cold air conditioning, to almost 100 degree F weather. I did notice a coating of moisture all over the rifle, and I'm thinking there was moisture in the chamber too when I shot, and could have ccontributed to the case sticking in...
TC260
I don't think I'm going to push the velocities that much more.
I would like to duplicate the GP11 ammo, and maybe get up to .308 velocities, since that is closest to actual military specs for the 7.5x55!
I'm sure the steel butt plate can be punishing if velocities are really pushed a lot.
tjen
I agree the plastic butt plates are ugly, and can break, or chip very easy.
The decelerator pads do add a touch of class to them.
You know.......I once had a Interarms Mk X in .375 H&H Mag, and it never slapped me like my Ruger M77 in .300 Win. Mag did! It pushed me more than rabbit...
Guy, there isn't anything more I like to do than bust some rockchucks!
I have a 22" barrel on my 760, and it is a 1 in 9 right hand twist.
I will have to take a look at Varget and H380, they sound like they work very well in a 6mm Remington!
Thank you for the great advice super-7,
I will certainly keep that in mind.
Maybe going with an accubond, or a ttsx will be better than going with an ETip?
Just making sure.....ya know?
I think temp differences can play a lot too on extraction issues with the 760/7600 series of pump rifles...
An update on the powder dippers.....
They give you a sliding graph with different makes of powders and the different weights of each dipper in that specific powder.
That's good for start loads, and can be used in conjunction with a trickler along witha powder scale. So you can get up to max...
The new powders that are out now, I think the round can be upped a little closer to the 30-06 velocities than the 308 can be. Depending on case maker, the 7.5x55 case comes within 2-3 grains difference of the 30-06.
Plus, having a 25.6 inch barrel helps the velocities too.
Thank you very much Ray!
I will keep that overall length in mind. I will do overall length as you have done.
I too like the longer for caliber 180 gr SGK's, and will use them along with the BT's.
I do like IMR 4350, along with Hodgdon H4350. That powder works very well across all the calibers I...
