Here is a 165 NP recovered from the off side hide of a 3-year or so bull elk and a 30-06 around 2825fps or so and 100-yards. First one sailed through, this was the second shot.
Good stuff! For you that load in doors, how do you not get brass shavings and powder all over? As hot as it has been lately, the garage is sucking lately. Guess I could lay laminate or wood flooring.
I am only getting 2870 with IMR4350 and 180 NAB's, so to me this seems legit. Nosler doesn't list many loads over 2900 or usually they are 50-fps +/- faster than my reality. I wouldn't sweat it, shoot what is the most accurate. 69.5 they say 2985 but I haven't got there yet with 180's.
It will be easier to use 7-08 brass. The .243 has a longer neck and I make it work, but first firing is a tight bolt close. It would be nice if there were more out there, looks like the 6.5 CM has taken off a little better.
