I recently built a 6.5x280 A. I. and having a blast building loads. Using h4350, IMR 4350, h4831, and IMR 4831. I have some magpro for my 270 wsm and want to start building some loads with it and maybe some h1000. Problem is supplies are limited and getting expensive, if anyone has time for a ql for 140 gr bullet out of 26" barrel with 1-8 twist It would be much appreciated.
 
I do not have QL, but I use Gordon’s Reloading Tool, which can be downloaded for free on the Internet. Your cartridge sounds like a 6.5-06 AI or very close to it. That would be a very good starting point.
 
I will check out Gordon's reloading tool, thanks for that. I have been using 6.5x06 AI loads to start, my dad has 2 and alot of data for the powders he likes to shoot. Mostly the ones mentioned above. My case just holds a little more powder.

On GRT, you can manually adjust case volume, to depart from standard case volume.
 
I could still use a QL for my 6.5x280 AI using 140 rdf and 143 eldx. If anyone has time it would be much appreciated!
 
I have some Magpro, h4831, and Hunter powders. I'm thinking that Winchester's 6.5 staball and superformance might work really well in this cartridge.
 
the 6.5x280AI is not listed in my quickload . probably why no one has posted up info for you .
 
Please remember to start low and work up this is without your actual OAL. and capacity. I have had pressure signs show 3-4 rows above what calculates as max. with some of my combos.

That is all fantastic info, thank you. Was surprised at the 6.5 staball. Have lots of magpro, will start there. Will let you know what I come up with.
 
Hey Bruce, the loads are coming along great! I found Max is usually a grain lower than posted and velocity is 40-60 fps faster than QL but put in the work and found some good loads.
Was wondering if you would run another for me with same parameters except with 147gr eldm's and OAL 3.405. Same powders. Appreciate the help
