It's Guy MIners fault!! This Was at My Door Today!!

I really "dislike" Guy MIner, He caused me to spend a little bit of money. LOL After watching Guy install one of Boyds Heritage stock he was the reason I ordered a Prairie Hunter stock for my rifle. It's going on a Ruger American! I'll be mock fitting this stock here shortly and then bedding the lugs!!

That Guy Miner can certainly lead a person astray! He is knowledgeable and has some great ideas but don't every tell him I said that! I have an idea for your new stock. It's not a Guy Miner idea but here it is. Is there someone near to where you live that does checkering. Some nice checkering on that would add a bit of a snazzy look and functional at the same time. I know Boyds will checker them if you request when you order a stock from them. Maybe they would do it on your rifle if you should be so inclined to do so/

Here's a quick photo. It has gotten too dark to take better pics. It's all mocked up. Now, take it apart to bed the lugs. Tomorrow though. lol

Yes, those Ruger American stocks leave a lot to be desired. I am really pleased with this Boyds stock. The only issue I had was with the detachable magazine well. Had to take a small flat blade screwdriver and remove a tiny bit of material. Fit's like a glove now.

Yea, I started to have a little checkering added but wasn't sure about it. If this stock works out like I hope I'm going to order a couple more. I'll probably get one checkered.

It did add a little weight, not sure how much though. Just to be honest, I dont care. I don't haul my rifles up and down mountains and trek across open tundra on my hunts.
