    6.5x47's new diet

Shot it at 600, looks like a great load, wish I hadn't dropped the one out though

    6.5x47's new diet

Found 500 6.5mm 140 VLD's for $120 bucks at a pawn shop and had to buy them, have been shooting 140 Hybtids with stellar results, appears the VLD's will perform as well. BC is on par with the Hybrids, time to stretch them out to 600 and 1,000!

    1,000 Yard F-Class Match with 6.5X47

Thanks for the kind words, fellas! Even the difference in winds effects from 800 to 1000 yards is dramatic. The more you shoot in the wind, the more you'll lewrn though. I always like going out and shooting steel at 1000-1500 and seeing if I can make a cold bore first round hit, .300winmag and...

    1,000 Yard F-Class Match with 6.5X47

Had our match yesterday, had a pretty good turn out with 16 shooters, all shooting F-Class except two who shot Palma. Haven't gotten the email with scores yet but I believe I got the top score with a 570-?X. Shot a 193 in the first relay, 188 in the second and 189 in the third. Wind got pretty...

    600 Yard F-Class match W/6.5X47

I have seen a lot of good shooters and rifles succumb to the "velocity factor" I've ran my rifle up to 2,850+ before pressure but my SD was 17+ and my extreme spread wouldn't even hold the 10 ring at 600 yards. I've shot a lot of Service rifle high power matches and have played with wind vs SD...

    600 Yard F-Class match W/6.5X47

Took the 6.5 out to our first 600 yard F-Class match of the year, really happy with how it performs. Ended up with a 584-24X, competition was pretty tight, other top performers were using 6mm BR's and one 6X47 Lapua. But, my little 47 pulled through. Wind was 3-7mph all day, a few switches but...

New barrel out for a shot!

Gotta love the 47! Great shooting, and don't worry about that fifth shot, I did the same thing the other day with mine, let my buddy shoot next and dang if it didn't happen to him on shot five....darn range monkey! I shoot 140 Hybrids with 40.0grs H4350, I assume that's the equivalent powder...

    6.5x47 shoots!

Interesting, I've not tried it at 1,000 yet so I don't know. My buddy shoots a 6BR at 1,000, he's done pretty well with it. We do have one guy that shoots a 7WSM with 180 Hybrids and he always cleans house, but, he is also on the US F-Class team. I'll probably shoot this until the barrel goes...

    6.5x47 shoots!

Great info 257! I don't think the 6.547 Has a parent per say. Anyways, I think it is an underestimated performer with heavy bullets. I'm getting 2,814, under standard atmospheric conditions, I'm still getting 10 inches less inches wind drift (10MPH wind) than a 6X47 with a 105 Hybrid at...
